GE Aerospace Details “Year of Investment” in Support of Defense Program

After a century-long partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense, GE Aerospace is still making efforts to invest in its capabilities to enhance military strength.

GE’s Rich Military History

GE Aerospace boasts a 100-year partnership with the DoD, and a recentpress releasenotedthat two-thirds of domestic military aircraft are powered by the firm’s technology. The company says this persists through its focus on leading-edge manufacturing and technology “to ensure next-gen capabilities and continued U.S. air superiority.”

Defense Forum Pledge

GE Aerospace CEO and chairman Larry Culp recently participated in a panel discussion at the Reagan National Defense Forum on how GE Aerospace and other stakeholders were building a blueprint for future needs inherent in the national defense strategy. GE Aerospace is able to capitalize on emerging requirements via its proprietary program, FLIGHT DECK. This effort is designed to leverage the talents of hundreds of its trained engineers, who are deployed to help suppliers solve complex problems and improve safety, cost, and efficiency targets.

Company, Technology Changes

This marks the first year that GE Aerospace has engaged in the Reagan National Defense Forum as a standalone entity, following the segment spin-off in April 2024. In speaking to its commitment to continue with the strong defense partnership, Culp detailed the firm’s efforts to deliver value through investments in people and facilities. Culp, in fact, defined 2024 as “our year of investment.” This included $100 million invested in bolstering the company’s supply chain and $125 million in upgrading technology within its facilities.
