
Lockheed Martinannouncedthat it would increase production of a range of security solutions used to combat global threats.
The aerospace and defense company said that it would prioritize agility, adaptability, and speed in developing its systems. According to Chief Operating Officer Frank St. John, the company expects to increase the annual production capacity of its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) to 96 by 2025.
St. John added that Lockheed increased the annual production of Javelin, a versatile anti-tank missile system, to 2,400 units and will deliver over 10,000 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) in 2024.
Additionally, Lockheed Martin expects increased production of its Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile/Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (JASSM/LRASM) systems following the opening of a 225,000-square-foot manufacturing site.
Lockheed also boosted funding for its PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement system, an air defense missile that uses direct body-to-body contact to eliminate targets and preserve assets. The company expects an annual production rate of 650 missiles by 2027.
St. John attributed the company’s augmented workforce and production levels to 1LMX, a digital transformation initiative that leverages analytics, data, and artificial intelligence.
