AWS, NXP Drive the Next Generation of Semiconductor Production: Here’s How

Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon company, has announced a collaboration with NXP Semiconductors, moving a majority of NXP’s electronic design automation to AWS.

NXP, AWS Partnership Groundwork

Recently, NXP completed the development of end-to-end semiconductor chip designs for AWS. The company then established a cloud center to accelerate the migration, train its employees, standardize application development, and ensure cloud workloads.

Leveraging AWS’s global infrastructure capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and high-performance computing, NXP has executed a system-on-chip design that includes tape-out and simulation for its vehicle integration processor.

AWS and NXP: Partnership History

In 2020, NXP and AWS established an initial partnership, focusing on extending opportunities for connected vehicles. The partnership delivered secure, edge-to-cloud computing collaboration to next-generation vehicles and enabled new cloud-powered services for vehicle manufacturers.

Now, four years later, the companies are furthering the partnership as the industry moves forward.

Within the extended three-year collaboration, NXP will work with the scalability, security, and performance of AWS, delivering semiconductor design implementation for IoT, mobile, automotive, and communication solutions.
