Maine-based specialty materials maker Tex Tech Industries this week acquired two divisions of a North Carolina manufacturer and established a new coatings subsidiary.
Tex Tech, a subsidiary of Maryland’s Arlington Capital Partners, added Highland Industries’ coating and laminating operations as well as its U.S. defense-related business. The new properties will operate as a division known as Tex Tech Coatings LLC out of Kernersville, N.C.
The new subsidiary will serve numerous industries, including manufacturing, aerospace, defense, and medical companies, and allow Tex Tech to meet demanding strength, heat, and chemical requirements for its materials.
Arlington Capital officials said the addition of a coating and laminating business was the company’s “top priority” in order to establish “an end-to-end materials science supplier.”
“We plan to continue to augment Tex Tech’s portfolio of capabilities through both organic investments and strategic acquisitions,” added Managing Partner Peter Manos in a statement.
Tex Tech Coatings will continue to be led by Highland’s existing management team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
