Schneider Electric Partners with IPConfigure to Bolster Building Security

On April 9, 2024, top energy management/automation technology company,Schneider Electric(SE) announced that it ispartnering upwith leading managed business security service provider, IPConfigure. The Partnership will combine both companies’ strengths to create an unmatched and comprehensive security ecosystem.

EcoStruxure™ and Orchid

To create this integrated protection system, technology from IPConfigure’s Orchid, a simple, scalable, and easy-to-manage video management system (VMS), will be integrated into SE’sEcoStruxure™ Buildings platform. EcoStruxure is the company’s central technology that seamlessly connects variouscloudcomponents by collecting and analyzing critical data, and enabling real-time decision-making for efficient operations and smart infrastructure.

EcoStruxure is made up of two security tech platforms (Security ExpertandAccess Expert), and the plan is to add Orchid to both of them. These platforms already offer a bunch of perks including physical access control, intrusion detection, mobile cloud security, video monitoring, alarms, visitor management, and building operations. The partnership will provide customers with a streamlined, comprehensive building security system that protects assets, data, and people.

Application and Features

Both the EcoStruxure and Orchid platforms are already being successfully used in a number of global and national companies and sectors, like fast-food chains, retail, and schools. Once Orchid has been integrated into EcoStruxure, customers will be able to record and manage countless cameras, locations, and users, via a single interface.

Compatible with Windows and Linux, the browser-based Orchid interface has open standards that allow users to customize it to their liking. It is user-friendly, with single sign-on and easy user permission granting to access the various cameras and locations.

Schneider Electric and IPConfigure

The CEO of IPConfigure, Christopher Uiterwyk, noted that the creation of this new and simple single-source security management and building operations tool which combines EcoStruxure with the already easy-to-use Orchid will allow users to quickly, efficiently, and effectively meet their digital security needs.

The Senior Vice President of U.S. Digital Buildings at SE, James Mylett, highlighted the company’s commitment to providing long-term technology solutions that “modernize and future-proof buildings.” He added that meeting customer needs will always be the company’s foremost priority, and this is evidenced by this new partnership with IPConfigure.

Schneider Electric and IPConfigure Partnership—Summary

This new partnership between SE and IPConfigure will create an unbeatable security system that combines their top technologies, EcoStruxure and Orchid respectively. Technology from Orchid (IPConfigure’s simple, scalable, and easy-to-use VMS) will be added to SE’s EcoStruxure (an intelligent technology hub that connects different parts of buildings using data) in a move that will essentially merge a high-tech security camera system with a smart building platform.

Once Orchid is part of EcoStruxure, customers will be provided with a complete security package that protects assets, data, and people, and can handle an unlimited number of cameras and locations through a single interface, that works on both Windows and Linux, and is customizable, user-friendly, and secure in order to make buildings safe and smart.
