Auto Supplier to Hire 150 in Michigan

A Michigan automotive supplier plans to add dozens of new jobs under a new partnership with city officials and a local community college.

WJRT-TV reports that Android Industries, which provides assembly, tooling, and equipment to the auto industry, will add 150 jobs at its Flint plant.

The company said a recently signed agreement with General Motors would provide five modules for the automaker’s new pickup, which will be made at its Flint assembly factory.

“We currently have their business with the truck plant here, so we’ve got the next-generation truck they have going on,” Byron Darby, the plant’s manager, told the station.

Although Android reportedly saw job reductions in recent years, it still employs more than 200 people in the central Michigan city.

The company partnered with the City of Flint and Mott Community College, which hosted a hiring event for the positions this week.
