GM Unveils Longer Version of Cadillac’s Electric Escalade

General Motors has revealed the details of a larger version of its Cadillac brand’s debut all-electric SUV.

More Storage, Legroom

The unveiling of the Escalade IQL follows the launch of the Escalade IQ, an electric variant of Cadillac’s flagship SUV.

The Detroit automaker said the IQL features a longer silhouette than the original, which allows for four more inches of legroom in front of the vehicle’s third row of seating and another inch of headroom.

The longer model also offers more rear storage and more than 12 cubic feet of additional storage in an “eTrunk” compartment under the hood.

Range of 460 Miles

GM said the IQL offers an estimated range of 460 miles, like the Escalade IQ. Officials added that drivers using public DC fast charging stations can charge for up to 116 miles of range in 10 minutes.

Production Beginning Later This Year

Production of the IQL is expected to begin near the middle of the year at GM’s “Factory ZERO” facility in Detroit. The longer model will have a starting price of more than $132,000.
