
Kia revealed its new Concept EV2, PV5, and EV4 models at EV Day in Tarragona, Spain. The South Korean automaker showcased nine total vehicles at the event, including one Concept EV2, four PV5s, and four EV4s.
New Addition to EV Lineup
The Concept EV2 introduces a new sub-compact SUV electric vehicle and is Kia’s latest addition to its EV lineup. The company stated that the concept vehicle would aim to democratize electric vehicle ownership.
Kia displayed the Cargo, Passenger, Wheelchair Access Vehicle, and Crew variants of the PV5, calling it the first model under its Platform Beyond Vehicle business strategy. The EV4 models represented the automaker’s first electric hatchbacks and sedans.
Customization Options
Additionally, the company highlighted its Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service (E-GMP.S) and the Kia AddGear. The E-GMP.S features a modular body system for flexible configurations, and AddGear grants customers personalization options through various accessories, enhancing the car’s functionality for business and personal use.
Collaboration with Samsung Electronics
The event also featured Kia’s collaboration with Samsung Electronics to promote SmartThings Pro, an IoT system for Platform Beyond Vehicles that provides plug-and-play services.
