TYC Americas announced plans to open a mobility center in Wixom, Michigan, that would serve the company’s customer base and onshore its manufacturing operations from China and Taiwan.
$19M in Capital Investment and 109 Jobs
The vehicle equipment maker expects the Michigan Mobility Center to generate nearly $19 million in capital investment and create 109 new jobs with hourly wages that range from $24 to $55.
TYC Americas provides automotive lighting products and supplies replacement aftermarket firms and OEMs worldwide. The Wixom facility will serve the company’s North American customers, and company executive John Kovalik added that the site would also expand its global reach.
Performance-Based Grant
The project received a $981,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund. TYC Americas also plans to partner with workforce services provider Oakland County Michigan Works! to find, develop, and retain talent.
