Contract electronics manufacturer Flex announced the addition of a new production facility in Dallas that will make power products for the North American market.
A "Central Hub” for the U.S.
Flex officials said the 400,000-square-foot complex would serve as a “central hub” for the company following its acquisition of Crown Technical Systems late last year. It would bring together the fabrication and assembly of “technical power pods” with “utility-grade capabilities” in the U.S.
"Grid-to-Chip” Infrastructure Solutions
The company said the expansion would particularly increase its capacity for “grid-to-chip” data center infrastructure products, including power pods, power distribution units, and low-voltage switchgear.
Meeting the Demands of AI
Flex said the Dallas hub would reduce lead times for its U.S. customers and enable it to meet growing power infrastructure requirements attributed to the growth of artificial intelligence systems.
Chris Butler, the president of the company’s embedded and critical power business, said the facility positions Flex to deliver next-generation solutions that help companies “maximize computing performance while reducing deployment times.”
