Toyota Builds All-Hybrid Camry at Kentucky Plant

On May 8, 2024,Toyotarolled out its newest Camry—an all-hybrid version of this much-loved and popular car. The ninth-generation 2025 Camrycame off the assembly lineat Toyota’s Georgetown, Kentucky facility—its longest-running and largest auto manufacturing plant in the USA.

Toyota’s All-Hybrid Camry

The first Camry that was manufactured in Kentucky came out in May, 1988, and since that time, over 11 million more have been assembled there by almost 10,000 workers. In addition, more than $10 billion has been invested in the facility and the local communities.

The classic Camry has been the best-selling passenger car in America for 22 years in a row. The new Camry is solely powered by Toyota’s fifth-gen Hybrid System, and has been given a glow-up with a cool new aesthetic. It also offers more power andfuel efficiency, and, of course, a stellar driving experience.

Toyota Georgetown Facility

Toyota Kentucky opened its doors in May of 1986, and has since made over 13 million vehicles. The facility spans 1,300 acres, and employs 9,950 full-time workers. It is Toyota’s largest manufacturing plant globally, and its first wholly-owned plant in the USA.

Since 2021, Toyota has invested over $18.6 billion into its American manufacturing operations towards its electrification goals. To aid these efforts, the company recently invested $1.3 billion in the Georgetown facility. This will, inter alia, cover the creation of a new three-row battery SUV to be released in the USA.

Toyota Kentucky Job Security and Stability

Markee Robinson, Toyota’s production team leader, and the president of Toyota Kentucky, Kerry Creech, highlighted Toyota’s commitment to securing employment and job stability for its staff in the coming decades, noting that this is evidenced by the release of the new Camry and future EVs that are in the works.

The Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, commended Toyota’s commitment to both its employees and the community, calling it “a first-class employer”. He also praised Toyota’s evolving strategies to improve the facility, the lives of its employees, and the environment.

The All-Hybrid 2025 Camry—Summary

The much-loved Toyota Camry is currently the eighth most popular car in America. The release of the new all-hybrid Camry is sure to thrill customers looking for a reliable car that’s a joy to drive, while also helping reduce their carbon footprint and save money on fuel.

The production of this EV is a big step in Toyota’s electrification efforts, and will also provide long-term job security and stability for almost 10,000 Kentuckians.
