Heating and air condition systems manufacturer Trane acquired fellow HVAC company Arctic Chiller Group (ACG) earlier this month, the companies announced.
ACG, based near Toronto with a facility in South Carolina, produces high-efficiency, air- and water-cooled magnetic bearing, modular, and process chillers for commercial HVAC and process cooling applications. The company serves military bases, hospitals, municipal water systems, data systems, and other major “mission-critical” sites worldwide.
Arctic officials said the deal would provide new support and investment to expand its product availability and distribution. Trane, meanwhile, said the deal would provide its customers with more options to help curb energy and operating expenses.
“Arctic is a great brand with great people and high-quality products that serve a growing market,” Donny Simmons, president of Trane parent Ingersoll Rand’s commercial HVAC business, said in a statement.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
