HD Hyundai announced multiple additions to its off-highway machines portfolio. The new machines are the HX355A excavator, the HD100 dozer, and four models for its HX-A compact excavators series.

The 35.5-ton HX355A excavator features a compact-radius design, which HD Hyundai claims will enable the machine to operate in confined spaces traditionally suited for smaller machines. Product Manager Joe Hodges explained that the model’s cab stays within the tracks during rear or front operations and extends only four inches beyond the tracks during side operations.

Other features include a bucket with a capacity of 47.3 cubic feet and 18 inches of ground clearance, an 11-foot 10-inch dozer blade, four power modes, a one-touch power boost, and a smart power control system that monitors real-time workload. The system’s data lets the excavator automatically adjust hydraulic flow and engine power to match the needed digging force.

HD Hyundai said the HD100 dozer’s undercarriage features dual-flange rollers outside the track chain and single-flange rollers inside, ensuring the track remains on the undercarriage.

Featuring an operating weight of nearly 23,600 pounds and powered by an 86-kilowatt engine, the HD100 includes a blade capacity of 77.6 cubic feet, a 1.5-foot digging depth, and a top speed of 5.6 miles per hour. The ground contact pressure ranges from 4.2 to 5.6 psi, depending on the blade size.

HD Hyundai also introduced four HX-A excavators: the HX27AZ, the HX17AZ, the HX60A, and the HX55ACR.

The machines boast operating weights of 4,370 to 13,580 pounds, dig depths of 8 feet to 12 feet 8 inches, bucket breakout forces of 3,668 to 9,461 pounds-force, and engines with net power ratings of 11.9 to 47 kilowatts.

Other features throughout the excavators include a load-sensing hydraulic system, open center hydraulic systems, adjustable hydraulic flow control, blade float, auto engine idle, and auto-shift travel speed.
