GXO, Reflex Robotics Partner to Boost Warehouse Automation

GXO Logistics, a logistics contractor, has announced an agreement with human-purpose robotics startup Reflex Robotics to deploy more warehouse automation.

What to Know About Reflex Robotics

GXO will pilot Reflex Robotics into full deployment and operations as it enters its second agreement in the Robots-as-a-Service field (RaaS). Learning from the observation of human action over time, the Reflex robot can move between repeated tasks. All types of automated human actions are followable, from product selection to tote moving.

The robot is an out-of-the-box application, reaching suitable operation autonomy within an hour of initial stationing. The robot ramps up to full autonomy once given a demonstration of tasks to accomplish.

GXO’s Role in the Partnership

GXO will use an “operational incubator” program, working jointly with developers to legitimize robotic practices. This will take place in a warehouse, which dually serves as a real-world testing site. GXO is co-developing robotic scenarios that can be processed through omnichannel pilot operations.

The long-term objective is to extend Reflex’s robotic abilities across GXO procedures. This would enable GXO employees to address more substantial roles while the robots would take care of the repetitive, simpler tasks.

GXO looks to expand this technology across its 970 facilities worldwide.
