Mentee Robotics Reveals End-to-End Humanoid

Software developer Mentee Robotics announced MenteeBot, the company’s end-to-end humanoid designed to perform tasks in industrial warehouses and households.

Responding to Spoken Commands

According to Mentee Robotics, the prototype responds to verbal commands and completes tasks, including locomotion, navigation, object localization and detection, grasping, natural language understanding, and scene comprehension.

Mapping and Comprehension

The company developed the locomotion capability using a Simulator-to-Reality machine-learning approach. This method features reinforcement learning in a virtual robot model for training and adaptation to real-world applications.

NeRF-based algorithms help MenteeBot map its environment in real time, which allows it to find items, navigate spaces, and avoid obstacles.

The humanoid also uses transformer-based Large Language Models to interpret commands and determine the necessary steps to complete a task. The company highlighted the humanoid’s ability to integrate dexterity and locomotion, including maintaining its balance while carrying weights or extending its hands.

Final Product Coming This Year

Mentee Robotics noted that the new prototype is not the final version. The company plans to launch the production-ready MenteeBot in the first quarter of 2025, featuring fully integrated artificial intelligence, electric motors that enhance dexterity, and camera-only sensing.

Founded in 2022, Mentee Robotics has received $17 million in investments to date.
