Nissan Debuts Two New EV Concepts

Japanese automaker Nissan premiered two electric vehicle (EV) concepts, the Arizon SUV and the Max-Out convertible sports car, at Auto Shanghai 2023. The Arizon made its global debut, and the Max-Out made its Chinese debut.

A team in China created the Arizon. Constructed on the CMF EV platform, the vehicle has a low center of gravity, an open-air cabin, and a self-dimming roof. The Arizon also includes Eporo, a virtual assistant that can provide responses for passengers, and a lighting system with the ability to automatically adapt lights to individual tastes.

The Max-Out features an ultra-low center of gravity and an all-wheel drive system that’s fully electric. Passengers can also use the cabin’s innovative display screen. Nissan said the Max-Out aligns with Ambition 2030, its long-term vision announced a few years ago, which aims to promote the democratization of EVs and e-POWER models to accelerate electrification.

Through Ambition 2030, Nissan aims to introduce 27 electric models by the fiscal year 2030. Nissan COO Ashwani Gupta said the Arizon and Max-Out represent the automaker’s goal to create a future where cars are a solution to both energy and societal issues.
