Stellantis announced an expanded partnership with French startup Mistral AI to implement artificial intelligence into its operations. The automaker noted that Mistral AI’s experience in automation and large language models could enhance projects that cover manufacturing, engineering, fleet data analysis, and internal car sales.
Conversational In-Vehicle Assistant
The collaboration’s latest initiative introduces an in-vehicle assistant that offers drivers conversational support, such as guidance with troubleshooting, warning indicators, and vehicle functions. Stellantis added that the assistant would receive continuous updates and adapt to its models and brands.
Anomaly Detection
Other AI initiatives include evaluating Mistral AI’s technology to determine its ability to detect manufacturing errors and support operators in resolving issues. The company also plans to integrate a Mistral AI chatbot that interacts with product data to support part selection, comparison, and optimization.
Fleet Data Analysis
Stellantis added that artificial intelligence could automate data processing from development surveys and fleets to reveal corrective actions, identify trends, improve customer satisfaction, and bolster product quality.
Internal Car Sales
A “Club Stellantis” chatbot would help workers in France buy company vehicles. Stellantis said the tool would handle queries in multiple languages, a critical feature for the automaker’s plan to extend the service to other European nations.
