A global manufacturer of plastic packaging plans to establish a new production facility in Northwest Virginia, state and company officials announced.
Creating 45 Jobs
Serioplast will invest more than $25.7 million in a 140,000-square-foot industrial building in Shenandoah County, according to the announcement. The project is expected to create 45 jobs.
Paolo Bergamini, the CEO of Serioplast Group, cited the state’s skilled workforce and business environment for the decision to expand to Virginia.
Supplying Leading Consumer Goods Companies
The Italian company, which was founded more than 50 years ago, provides rigid plastic packaging to leading consumer goods companies, including Proctor & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, and Unilever.
Serioplast operates 33 facilities across 16 countries, including a major production site in St. Louis.
State Support
Shenandoah County will receive a $180,000 state grant to assist the project, and the state’s Virginia Talent Accelerator Program will provide recruiting and training services for the company’s newly created positions.
