A manufacturer of electric motor-generators held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to open its new facility in northwestern Alabama, local economic development officials announced.
Adventech’s plant in Florence, Alabama, will initially produce the MaxEff complex motor-generator, which the company said is primarily used in pump drives, cooling tower fan drives, automation systems, baghouses, and other industrial and municipal applications.
Thirty employees will initially staff the facility, but the 55,000 square-foot complex expects to expand to 200 workers within two years to help meet the U.S. and global demand. A statement from the Shoals Chamber of Commerce said beverage giants InBev, MillerCoors, Coca-Cola, and PepsiCo are among the current users of the MaxEff generator.
“Our objective to become recognized as the most disruptive technology to hit the electric motor market in the last 65 years is coming to fruition,” company CEO Ron Ballman said in his statement. “Adventech is committed to continuing to develop energy-saving motor-generators for other market segments as well as evolving into the next generation of the MaxEff motor.”
