A global bolt manufacturer will expand its U.S. operations and establish a new North American headquarters in western Pennsylvania, state officials announced this week.
Nord-Lock Group plans to consolidate its manufacturing operations into the new $4 million, 125,000-square foot facility in Findlay Township, about 20 miles west of Pittsburgh and some 15 miles away from its current facility in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
The project will retain 110 existing jobs and create 37 new positions over the next three years.
“This new facility demonstrates our continued commitment to the wonderful Pittsburgh-area region,” Nord-Lock Regional Sales President Steve Greenwell said in the announcement.
Nord-Lock, a subsidiary of Swedish investment firm Investment AB Latour, produces bolting solutions for a wide range of industries under its own name as well as the Boltight, Expander, and Superbolt brands. Superbolt, founded in Carnegie in 1984 and credited with inventing multi-jackbolt tensioning technology, was acquired by Nord-Lock in 2011.
Pennsylvania economic development officials proposed $111,000 in tax credits for job creation, as well as a $29,000 workforce development grant, to support the project.
