This New Power Supply Line Is Made Explicitly for the Medical Industry

A California custom manufacturer of commercial, industrial, and consumer electronic devices is launching a new product line targeting the medical industry. Triad Magnetics has just expanded its offerings to now include its newly developed WMX medical wall plug-in switch mode power supplies.

The typical power supply in the market that is UL/IEC 60601 compliant was designed for the industrial and consumer market before being modified for the medical market. Triad’s new line is unique in that it is explicitly made for use in the healthcare sector.

“Companies that provide medical equipment want to make sure they have a quality power supply — not a cheap consumer product that has been adapted for the medical industry,” said Lazaro Rodriguez, engineering manager at Triad Magnetics. “Our new WMX medical wall plug-in switch mode power supplies were designed from the ground up specifically for the medical industry. As a result, they are ergonomic and cosmetically suited for use in hospitals.”

A standout feature of Triad’s new line of WMX medical wall plug-in switch mode power supplies is its low noise level. The products are also set apart from standard models due to their flexible silicon-based output cords.

Available in 20–50 watts models and with a five year warranty, these supplies are DOE Level VI Efficiency. They come in 100–240V input with interchangeable input plugs and 5–48VDC output models. The product is also available in a fixed plug, as part of its WMU series.
