Wisconsin Medical Manufacturer to Add 500 Jobs

A Wisconsin medical manufacturer plans to hire nearly 500 new employees over the next 12 to 18 months, the company’s staffing partner announced this week.

Phillips-Medisize, which develops and manufactures pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and medical devices, first announced its new manufacturing facility in Hudson, Wisconsin, in February. Staff Management-SMX said in a statement that although construction continues at the new site in the western Wisconsin city, Phillips-Medisize will provide newly hired workers with transportation to its nearby facilities until the new production lines are up and running.

The staffing company said Phillips-Medisize is hiring for a “range of manufacturing support positions,” with jobs currently available for production operators and in entry-level packaging. The positions are “temp to hire,” with workers converting to a full-time Phillips-Medisize employee after 520 hours, or just more than 43 12-hour shifts.

Phillips-Medisize, a subsidiary of Koch Industries-owned electronics manufacturer Molex, expects the facility in Hudson’s St. Croix Meadows development to be completed between late 2019 and mid-2020.
