Electronic connector pin manufacturer Preci-Dip will open its first U.S. factory in eastern Georgia, state officials announced this week.
The Switzerland-based company expects to invest $13.6 million in a former manufacturing facility in a Black Creek, Georgia, industrial park. The project is expected to result in 100 new jobs, according to Gov. Brian Kemp’s office.
Preci-Dip makes connectors for the defense and aerospace sectors, as well as the screw machine equipment needed to produce them. Company officials cited the area’s available workforce as well as the facility’s proximity to interstate highways, international air travel, and the Port of Savannah.
“We are excited at the prospect of opening our first U.S. manufacturing facility in Bryan County,” Raymond Kerrison, the company’s CEO, said in the statement.
The company said longtime screw machining and engineering veteran John Mayer would head its U.S. operations.
