Window Manufacturer to Expand to Georgia, Add 150 Jobs

Window and door manufacturer Wincore Window Co. this week announced plans to add a new manufacturing facility in eastern Georgia.

The West Virginia-based company will invest $6.5 million in an existing 75,000-square foot building in Swainsboro, Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said Tuesday. The new factory is expected to add 150 jobs to Wincore’s current nationwide workforce of 340 employees.

The company produces vinyl windows and sliding patio doors — for both new construction and retrofits — and fiberglass door entry systems, along with impact-resistant versions designed for coastal areas.

Wincore said it looked at several potential locations to expand in the southeastern U.S. before deciding on Swainsboro. Officials credited state and county economic development leaders for their flexibility in “structuring programs that will allow Wincore to succeed.”

The new facility is expected to begin operations next spring.
